Hyde makes a stand


Norman Hyde – specialist in performance parts and accessories for Triumphs since the 1970’s - has expanded his range of popular centre stands to include the 2009-on ‘small wheel’ Triumph Bonneville models, as well as the Scrambler and Thruxton variants. The current range of Hinckley-built Bonnevilles are fitted with a side stand only, which can make chain maintenance and adjustment, along with general cleaning and repairs, tricky. The fitting of a centre stand offers a much safer platform on which to perform essential tasks, and is important for parking, as it offers much greater stability than a side stand and allows the machine to be parked in narrower spaces too. The three new stands are specifically designed for each model - small wheel Bonneville, Thruxton & Scrambler - and are manufactured to be strong yet slim, offering stability and strength, whilst having minimal impact on lean angle when cornering, which is an important factor considering the reduced ground clearance of the small wheel models. Unlike most other centre stands, Hyde stands also feature a fully box sectioned operating arm, to prevent cracking and bending through use, and is powder coated in black for superb resistance to corrosion.
