Last chance to join 10th anniversary Trans Americas trip

Motorcycle adventurer Kevin Sanders will celebrate the 10th anniversary of his Guinness World Record-breaking journey across the length of the Americas by leading a group of riders along the same route.  However, his fellow-travellers will have more time to marvel at the scenery and visit points of interest along the way, because this year's Trans Americas expedition will take 20 weeks to complete, rather than the 35 days it took Kevin and wife Julia to make the trip in 2003.

Setting out from Anchorage in Alaska, the group will ride up to Prudhoe Bay in the Arctic Circle, before heading south and travelling 24,000 miles through Canada, the USA, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Columbia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile and Argentina, finally arriving in Ushuaia, the most southerly city in the world, before heading back to Buenos Aires to finish.  Although most of the route is on paved roads, 10% of the riding will be on dirt tracks and specialist training with the BMW off-road skills team is included in the package.

In 2005 the Trans Americas trip was filmed for a TV documentary and aired on the National Geographic Channel, providing an insight into the excitement and challenges of such an epic journey. There are still a couple of places left for the 2013 Trans Americas, which starts on 25th July, but time is running out because bookings close on 14th February to allow time for the necessary pre-trip training and briefings.  All advance payments are fully protected in line with the Package Tour regulations.
