4th Generation Peugeot Speedfight Scooter

Peugeot has launched the fourth generation of its iconic Speedfight scooter, which arrives in UK dealers this summer, ahead of its 20th birthday next year.

More than half a million Speedfight scooters have been sold since its launch in 1996 and the new Speedfight 4 gets a complete makeover, with a new engine and higher specification.

Styling is inspired by the Peugeot Exalt concept car, with twin helicoid headlights, separated by the distinctive grille, micro bulb crystal turn indicators and aviation-style fuel cap.
The dashboard has both USB and 12V sockets and is ready to take a RAM® X-Grip® smartphone holder; it also features an on-board digital multifunction computer.

Topping the range are the Iceblade and Pure special series, with matching pillion seat cowls, stainless steel footboards and bar ends, highlighted inserts in the air intakes and limited edition alloy wheels. Power is supplied by a new liquid-cooled 2-stroke engine, delivering 5% more power and 15% more torque than the previous model, and potent braking comes from a Ø 215 mm Shuricane front disc with radial calliper and dual piston, backed up by a Ø 190 mm Shuricane disc at the rear.

There are three colour options for the base model - blue France, flat red and fluo apple green – all styled on the same principle as the 30th anniversary Peugeot Sport 208 GTI, with matt black rear bodywork that contrasts with a bright colour at the front. Its 50cc 2-stroke engine is air-cooled, with a new Dell’Orto carburettor that delivers 10% more torque than before. It has a Ø 215 mm shuricane radial calliper disc brake up front, with a Ø 110 mm drum at the rear.

The Speedfight 4  can be ridden on an AM licence, making it accessible to anyone aged 16 or over. AM category scooters can also be ridden by anyone who passed their car driving test before 1st February 2001, without the need to take any extra tests.

Prices start at £1899 OTR, for the base series Speedfight 4; the special series Iceblade/Pure are £2099. All are covered by a 2-year unlimited mileage parts & labour warranty. Information and details of authorised Peugeot Scooter dealers can be found at www.peugeotscooters.co.uk.
