Classic on the outside, yet with thoroughly modern internals and features, IKON shock absorbers offer a dramatic improvement to both the road holding and comfort of Moto Guzzi's V7 II, without ruining its retro lines. Two IKON fitments are available for the V7: the 7610 and 7614 series. Both are engineered to suit the Guzzi's specific set-up and character, and to ensure the best possible combination of damping and spring rate. Both the 7610 and 7614 series feature Triple Rate Progressive Springs – using a rate similar to the V7's original shocks. In a progressive rate spring the distance between the individual coil windings differ, so when riding solo the spring moves in the softer range to give a more comfortable ride, and when carrying a passenger or luggage the stiffer area moves to compensate for the extra load. Twin tube Hydraulic Damping also features for a consistent and comfortable ride over the variety of road surfaces most riders encounter. The 7614 series units are also gas pressurised for enhanced stability, road-holding and comfort. Three Position Spring Pre-load and Four Position Rebound Damping – adjustable by hand, no tools required – provides more fine-tuning than the OEM units. Both the 7610 and 7614 have four distinctive adjustment positions, ranging from comfortable to sporty, so the rider can adapt the bike to his or her own preference and set up for carrying a passenger and/or luggage. All IKON Shock Absorbers are individually dyno tested before leaving the factory, to ensure consistency and quality throughout, and they can be rebuilt and re-valved. Shorter versions are available as a special order, should the rider wish to tailor the machine's ride height. The 7610 series shocks are available with a chrome body, chrome spring and chrome cap – suitable for the Special; or with a black body, black spring and black cap – perfect for the Stone. The 7614 series have a black spring and alloy body, for a more modern look. Retail prices for the 7610 Series start at £446.88 (including VAT) for a pair.
