Peugeot scooters take the lion's share
Peugeot scooters are enjoying a spectacular growth in market share, not only in the UK but also throughout Europe. In a shrinking European market, Peugeot posted a massive increase in volume sales, resulting in a market share of 23.1%. According to a spokesman for the French manufacturer;
“This remarkable performance means that, in both France and Germany—which together make up nearly half the European market—one of every four 50cc scooters sold is a Peugeot”.
Meanwhile in the UK, where the scooter sector has remained relatively static, Peugeot have increased both registrations and market share compared to last year.

“We’re very pleased with our performance in a crowded and highly competitive market.” comments Richard Davies of Peugeot importers 3X Motorcycles. “During October Peugeot was ahead of Triumph, BMW and Aprilia in the sales charts, which gives an indication of the strength of the brand in the UK.”
With hundreds of different brands available in the scooter sector – over 100 from China alone – Peugeot attribute their current success to a range of products from 50-500cc, with prices starting at under £1000 and the reassurance of the famous lion badge that is reinforced with a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty.
