Two steps to success with California Superbike school
The new racing season has got off to a great start for current and former California Superbike School students!
Leon Camier is now second in the British Championship following a fourth and a win in the first two races of the season in Brands Hatch and he attributes much of his success to lessons learned with California Superbike School.
"Getting a refresher of the CCS techniques at Jerez was a real help in the race”, says Camier. ”The 2-step drill really helped me to use so many different lines compared to the others, it was just easy to overtake!"
The Airwaves Yamaha rider spent several days in Jerez with the School just days before riding his new Yamaha R1 (that was almost in stock trim) in the opening round of British Superbikes. The 2-step drill teaches riders to look where they want to go, rather than at a space directly ahead of the front wheel and helps them to corner both faster and smoother, reducing the risk of running wide.
On the World scene former student Sandro Cortese got on the podium for the first time in the shortened 125GP race in Qatar and Thomas Luthi finished 6th on the Caffe Latte Aprilia 250. Czech World SuperSport rider Patrick Vosterek, who finished 16th and 18th in Valencia and Phillip Island, is one to watch in future.
