Skidmarx launch new range of crash protectors
RD Moto crash protectors will be available to UK riders exclusively through Skidmarx.
“At Skidmarx we have been making products to enhance the appearance of motorcycles for many years, so we decided it was time to offer our customers something to keep their bikes looking good” explains Managing Director Alan Roberts.
Engineered in the Czech Republic, RD Moto produce fittings for both road and track bikes; the road versions are designed so that in the majority of cases the protectors may be attached to the bike without the need to drill or cut the bodywork to accommodate them.
Four styles of bung are available, so that riders can choose an appropriate size and shape for the part of the machine to be protected. The PH and PHS are the classic ‘mushroom’ design, produced in either 50mm or 60mm diameter in a choice of nylon or anodised aluminium. The PHV is a smaller nylon ‘mushroom’ to which anodised alloy caps may be fitted – ideal for bar ends. The PP is conical design, produced in nylon or anodised aluminium, best suited to frame attachment.
Prices vary depending upon the fitting kits, but start from £49.95 inc. VAT for a pair of nylon protectors with a model specific kit (e.g. Honda CBR600RR 2003-06, Triumph Speed Triple). Expect to pay £69.95 for the Suzuki GSX-R750K8 and £79.95 for the 2008 model Yamaha R6. Anodised alloy bungs sell for approximately £20 more than nylon versions.
