Hands free with TechMount
Riders can keep their essential electronic gadgets close to hand while on the move by fitting one TechMount’s unique range of accessory mounting systems. The American company has developed a line of mounting systems that can be fitted neatly and securely to steering stems, handlebars, mirrors or controls. Speciality adaptor plates are available to cradle GPS, radar detectors, mobile phones, MP3 players, cameras, etc.
Designed and manufactured in the USA, TechMount systems hold 13 U.S. and international patents. CNC-machined from 6061 Aluminum billet to tolerances as tight as ten-thousandths of an inch, they are anodised in a variety of colours so that they are not only protected from the elements but also can be matched to the bike’s finish. Each kit contains all of the tools required for a straightforward installation.
Owners can choose whichever mounting system best suits the design of their machine. Stem Mount systems fit snugly into the hole in the steering head of most sport bikes, utilising a series of O-rings that get progressively tighter as the mount is pushed into the hollow. Mirror Mounts are designed to thread into the un-used mirror mounting holes found on many motorcycles and the Control Mount attaches to handlebar control clamps on either the clutch or brake side, replacing the two factory pinch bolts with new stainless bolts and spacers. Handlebar mounts clamp directly onto round handlebars without damaging the bar and require just 1/2" of bar space.
