Spyke hand it to the ladies
Premium Italian motorcycle clothing brand Spyke is helping Russia's first female-only road racing team in its bid to campaign on the World stage. Spyke is supporting Nadia Yakhnich and Nataliya Lyubimova, who both ride for Yakhnich Motorsport, during the 2010 season.
Yakhnich Motorsport has campaigned in the European Championships for the past two years and has ambitious plans to be the first to represent Russia at World championship level. Nadia was the first woman to ride in the Russian Road Racing Championship in 2006, finishing in bronze and silver positions in 2007 and 2008 respectively. She was also the first Russian to participate in the European Road Racing Championships and scooped fourth in the Women's Italian Championship in 2009.
Nadia's team mate Nataliya Lyubimova has an equally impressive CV, having won the 2009 STKWomen's championship, finishing second in the Women's Italian Championships and taking silver in the Russian road Racing Cup in 2007.
Both Nadia and Nataliya are wearing Spyke one-piece leather suits during the 2010 season and will be giving feedback to the Italian brand to help them develop their range of female rider clothing.
Already available for lady riders on the road is the Blaster 2-piece Leather suit (£549.99), which features full grain leather construction, CE approved armour throughout and flex zones to shoulders, legs and back for maximum freedom of movement.
Alternatively the Dea Evo Leather Jacket (£239.99) is perfect for sports and city riding thanks to the flexible full-grain cow leather construction and comfort lining, while the completely waterproof and breathable Luxy Lady Jacket (£159.99) suits for the year-round rider.
