KNOX CE-approved Sport Chest Guard
Over 80% of motorcycle accidents involve a frontal collision*, which puts the upper torso area at serious risk of injury, yet many road riders do not consider protecting this part of the body. Tested by motocross, enduro and road racers alike, the new Knox Sport Chest Guard is slim, flexible, lightweight and designed to offer CE certified protection for the upper torso for a very modest price.
Easily and quickly retro-fitted to the Contour, Kompakt and Aegis back-protectors from Knox, the Sport Chest Guard features a special low profile cut, so it can be can be worn under close fitting leather and textile jackets, without adding excess bulk or restricting movement. It’s also lightweight and features a breathable ‘spacer’ fabric inner layer, to help keep the wearer cool.
The Chest Guard is engineered to flex as the rider moves, ensuring protection is maintained in all positions. The unique double layer Honeycomb Plate Design absorbs maximum impact energy and ensures certification to the prEN1621–3, the draft European safety standard for motorcycle chest protectors.
In addition, a tough ABS outer layer is incorporated, to protect against impact from objects thrown towards the wearer by other vehicles.
British Superbike racer and Knox Athlete Alastair Seeley, who like many road racers wears a chest protector on-track comments: “I have worn a chest protector for some time now, all the MotoGP and WSB riders are wearing them and it is gradually feeding through to British racing. I wouldn't feel 100% comfortable pushing on the bike if I had forgotten to wear it”.
He continues; “After my crash at the NW200, most of my injuries were tendon damage to the lower body, my upper body was perfectly fine and the protection saved me from more serious injuries.”
The Knox Sport Chest Guard is available in a universal adult size in white, at the retail price of £34.99.
