New Peugeot 125 RS scooter
Peugeot have introduced two new cool colour schemes for their big wheel 125 RS scooter in response to booming demand for machines of this capacity from British customers. Featuring striking ice white or mad black bodywork, contrasting black wheels with polished alloy rims and 226mm Shuricane wavy front disc brake, the 125 RS is a striking machine.
Sales of scooters rose by 30% during the first three months of 2011, with the 125cc capacity growing by an equally impressive 27%, as British motorists look for for alternative transport options in the face of spiralling motoring costs. In addition to escalating fuel prices , (a gallon of unleaded currently costs up to £6.70), the latest AA British Insurance Premium Index reveals a record rise of 40% in the average cost of a comprehensive car insurance policy, with younger drivers aged between 17 to 22 experiencing an even bigger hike of 64%.
Scooter ownership offers significant savings by comparison. The Tweet's 125cc 4-stroke engine returns around 80mpg, road tax is just £16 per year and parking is generally free. Another significant benefit is that riders don't waste expensive fuel sitting in traffic queues. At 109kg and just 690mm wide the Tweet is easy to manoeuvre and its large16-inch wheels, 33mm telescopic front forks and an adjustable twin rear shock absorbers deliver superb stability and sure-footed handling, even on today’s rough and rutted streets.
Available from all authorised Peugeot Scooter dealers, the 125 RS retails at £1999, including a two year unlimited mileage warranty, but an introductory £200 discount voucher is available from Peugeot scooters' website, reducing the price to £1799.
