Sheriff rides off on Hyde Harrier
Norman Hyde has delivered his prototype Harrier Jubilee to its new owner - the High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire. Nigel Brown OBE took delivery of the bike outside Peterborough Town Hall, where he had been conducting his duties, still wearing his ceremonial robes. A keen motorcyclist, Nigel supported Norman's plans to build a modern British café racer from its inception.
Created to celebrate the 21st anniversary of the original Hyde Harrier and the 50th anniversary of the Triumph Bonneville, the Hyde Harrier Jubilee is the result of a 2-year project by Triumph specialist Norman Hyde and Harris Performance. Designed to be sold in kit form, using the Hinckley-built Bonneville engine as a power plant, the prototype is packed with performance components, including a Wiseco big bore kit taking it out to 904cc.
Many other exotic parts feature prominently on this development machine; a handmade Harris stainless steel race exhaust system, Öhlins suspension front and rear, lightweight PVM wheels, Acumen digital instrumentation, AP Lockheed radial brakes and Keihin smooth bore carburettors. A Hyde race fairing with twin Cibie lights completes the picture and gives the Harrier Jubilee an authentic classic appearance.
Available to buy in kit form, the base kit contains replacement frame & swinging arm, fuel tank, seat unit, rearset footrests, rear mudguard and prop stand, plus other necessary fittings, and retails for £3995 + VAT. For more information call 01926 832345 or visit www.hydeharrier.co.uk.
