Peugeot promote 100mpg scooter
Peugeot have announced a major promotion on their 100mpg Kisbee scooter to celebrate being the UK's best-selling brand of 50cc machines in May. Until the end of July Peugeot is offering a limited number of vouchers, which can be used to reduce the cost of a new Kisbee scooter by £420, bringing the retail price down from £1549 to £1129.
Sales of new scooters in the UK increased by 11.7% last year and demand rose by a further 6.6% during the first five months of 2012 (figures from www.mcia.co.uk). Most industry sources attribute the rise in demand to increasing prices at the pumps. Although the cost of petrol and diesel is lower than this time last year, both fuels are still at least 15p per litre more expensive than two years ago, according to the AA.
Scooters are significantly more economical - Peugeot's Kisbee is capable of achieving 100mpg, which is less than half the fuel consumption for a new car (cars consume 43.6 miles per gallon on average, Department for Transport figures show).
Designed for urban transport, the Kisbee weighs only 95kg, which not only helps with fuel economy, but also makes it easy to steer through urban traffic and easy to park. Its clean and efficient 50cc 4-stroke engine features a lighter piston design and con-rod for enhanced performance and reduced emissions.
Anyone over 16 may ride a 50cc scooter once they have completed Compulsory Basic Training (CBT), but drivers who obtained a full UK car licence before 1st February 2001 are automatically entitled to ride a “moped” (e.g. 50cc scooter) without L-plates (D-plates in Wales), which means there is no complicated paperwork to complete before riding away to enjoy the freedom of two wheels.
The Peugeot Kisbee is covered by a 2-year Peugeot unlimited mileage parts and labour warranty For more information on Peugeot's complete range of scooters visit www.peugeotscooters.co.uk.
