Prexport boots are back
Prexport bike boots are back in Britain. Initially four boots from the Italian manufacturer will be imported into the UK, including the range-topping Sonic Evo.
New for 2013, the Livigno is a waterproof leather touring boot with a twin-zip system that allows the front of the boot to fold down for easy access. Inside is an inner boot, which has a padded hard shell to give extra support to the ankle. Flex joints on the instep and above the heel aid comfort, while the instep is reinforced with a plastic blade for protection. Priced at £139.99 the Livigno comes in sizes 41-47.
Produced from Micro-fibre material, with perforated zones for ventilation, the Sonic Evo has padded flexible joints on the instep and above the heel for a superior fit, ensuring all-round comfort. The outer malleolus ('ankle bone') is covered with replaceable shock-absorbing reinforcement and the interior is padded too. Prexport's pro-race rubber sole offers maximum grip on the pegs and the Texon insole is strengthened with a steel shank . Completing the package are toe sliders, which are both adjustable and replaceable. Sonic Evo boots sell for £139.99 in a choice of black or white/black in sizes 38-47.
The other two models are the GT WP, a traditional waterproof leather touring boot that retails for £129.99, and the San Marco. Named after a district of Venice, the San Marco boots are secured by Prexport's 3-Velcro strap system, so stepping into and out of them is a quick and easy process, even with gloved hands. Manufactured from leather with a Prexportex waterproof and breathable membrane, San Marco boots sell for £99.99.
