Royal Enfield in Land's End Trial 2013
Motorcycle industry public policy advisor, campaigner and adventure motorcyclist Craig Carey-Clinch will be testing out the latest T5 kitted Royal Enfield on the historic Land's End Trial this Easter.
First run in 1908, every year since then up to 400 members of the Motorcycling Club have joined in with the historic reliability trial, which features several notoriously tricky unpaved hills, including Beggars Roost and Bluehills Mine. Competitors can choose between specified starting points in Cornwall, Gloucestershire, Hampshire or Somerset, then follow a 350-mile route with several tests and observed sections along the way.
Craig will be riding a new 500cc Royal Enfield Classic, fitted with a T5 kit from Watsonian Squire. With Continental Twinduro tyres, braced 'scrambles' handlebars and an alloy bash plate it should be well suited to the rigors of a reliability trial. Its relatively light weight (187 kg) and excellent fuel economy (79mpg) should also work in the rider's favour.
