Squire boost for Spyders
Squire's D21 trailer is now available to tow behind the radical Can-Am Spyder 3-wheeler.
Originally designed for use with solo motorcycles, the British-built luggage trailers combine a low centre of gravity with low polar moment of inertia, which makes them extremely stable behind vehicles like the Spyder, which are capable of high speeds and rapid changes of direction. They also feature a rotating hitch, which allows the three-wheeler to lean freely when cornering and attaches securely to the factory option tow bar on the Spyder.
With a capacity of 21 cubic feet (595 litres), Squire's D21 trailer offers significantly increased luggage carrying compared to traditional top boxes and panniers and they are secure and weatherproof too.
Squire introduced their first luggage trailer in 1984, when towing behind solo motorcycles was legalised in the UK, and in 2002 set a Guinness World Record for a bike towing a trailer, at an average speed of 139 mph (224 kph).
The D21 trailer has a GRP glass fibre body on a steel chassis, with progressive-rate coil spring suspension that is adjustable for pre-load and has hydraulic dampers. Unusually sophisticated for a bike trailer, this set up works in harmony with large diameter cast alloy wheels shod with "S" rated 12" radial tyres (speed rated up to 112 mph). The distinctively shaped body is gel coated to give a long lasting finish and lighting is of automotive quality.
Prices start at £2,795 for the D21. Contact Watsonian-Squire on 01386 700907 www.watsonian-squire.com
