ART at Rockingham
ART, the advanced riding course developed by California Superbike School founder Keith Code, comes to Rockingham in Northamptonshire on 23rd June.
ART is not a track day or a 'race school'. ART is based on a training programme that Keith Code devised for the United States Marine Corps to reduce serious motorcycle accidents among off-duty soldiers. It’s about understanding and making use of fundamental techniques that will keep riders safe and in control on the road.
Introduced to the UK in 2012, ART has proved particularly popular with riders who have recently passed their test and those who have returned to biking after a break.
Conducted on a specifically designed course where coaches can observe students working on the techniques, advice is given throughout the sessions, helping riders to put the theory into practice.
ART training takes half a day to complete, either during the morning or afternoon. There are three riding sessions, relating to throttle control, turn entry speed and proper co-ordination of throttle versus leaning.
Open to anyone with a full motorcycle licence, ART courses cost £99 and students can either use their own machines or hire a Yamaha FZ8 for £99. For more information or to book visit www.art-skills.co.uk.
