Michael Dunlop has won three races in the space of just two days at the 2013 Isle of Man TT Races, fuelled by Monster Energy.
Wearing Knox Biomech gloves and a Track Vest for protection, Michael won the Superbike Race on Sunday, taking the lead at Ballaugh on the opening lap and going on to build a commanding 40 second victory, beating fellow Honda rider Cameron Donald into second, while team-mate John McGuinness followed in third.
On Monday morning, Michael climbed on board the MD Racing Honda for the opening Supersport race, again taking the lead at Ballaugh on the first lap, (this time from brother William). Catching up with Bruce Anstey on the road, Michael eventually took the win from the Kiwi by more than 10 seconds, while his brother William took third place, the first time the two siblings have shared a TT rostrum.
Then on Monday afternoon, Michael won the Superstock race, bringing his tally of TT wins on the Island to six, one more than his father (the late Robert Dunlop) and equalling legendary riders Geoff Duke, Jimmie Guthrie and John Surtees. 'The Maverick' really flew on the Fireblade and absolutely smashed the lap record with an average speed of 131.2203mph, just 3.5 seconds off the outright Superbike record achieved on a stock machine.
