Knox protected racers dominate 2013 IOM TT

Knox-protected riders dominated the 2013 Isle of Man TT Races, winning a total of six races across five classes and setting three new lap records in the process.

Wearing Knox Biomech gloves and Track Vest, Michael Dunlop won the opening Superbike Race on Sunday 2nd June.  The following Monday morning Michael climbed on board the MD Racing Honda for the opening Supersport race, eventually taking the win from Bruce Anstey by more than 10 seconds. In the afternoon, Michael won the Superstock race, bringing his tally of TT wins on the Island to six, one more than his father (the late Robert Dunlop) and equalling legendary riders Geoff Duke, Jimmie Guthrie and John Surtees.  On top of that 'The Maverick' smashed the lap record with an average speed of 131.2203mph.

On Wednesday it was the turn of the zero-emission electric bikes to take to the Mountain Course for the TT Zero and this time it was veteran racer Michael Rutter who came first, beating John McGuinness by less than two seconds. Michael also wears Biomech gloves.  Rutter's overall lap average speed was 109.675 mph, over five miles an hour up on his 2012 lap record.  In scorching temperatures Wednesday's Supersport Race was hot stuff in every sense of the word. Bruce Anstey led the race through every sector for three laps, but Dunlop responded with a scorching final lap of 128.667 mph, setting a new record and putting him on the top of the podium for the fourth time in a week.

Knox athletes Ben and Tom Birchall took victory in Thursday's Sidecar Race 2 with an emphatic win over last year's winners Molyneux/Farrance.  The brothers opted for short cuff Knox ORSA gloves, which feature the patented Knox Scaphoid Protection System.
