New Attractions at Watsonian Open Weekend
The Watsonian Motorcycle & Sidecar company have announced several new attractions for their annual factory open weekend on Saturday/Sunday 22nd/23rd June. Held at the historic Watsonian sidecar factory, located between the scenic Cotswold towns of Moreton-in-Marsh and Chipping Campden, the event is now in its eighth year and attracts hundreds of riders from across the country thanks to its relaxed 'village fête' atmosphere.
New attractions for 2013 include the Cotswold Chocolate Company, who make fresh handmade and hand finished artisan chocolates, using only natural ingredients. Chester Belter leatherworks is also a craftsman, offering handmade leather key fobs, card holders and other accessories with a timeless appeal. Automotive artist Martin Squires will be in attendance, sketching the more eye-catching vehicles at the event (he's also available for private commissions) and visitors will have an opportunity to have their bike professionally photographed too.
Oxford Products are supporting the event with a display of the latest helmets, clothing and accessories and motorcycle author and world traveller Gordon May, who has ridden classic bikes to Africa and India, will return with a selection of books and videos.
Also new is the sidecar driving skills course, on which visitors can ride the company's demonstrator outfit around a specially created obstacle course. Don't forget to bring a helmet, appropriate riding gear and driving licence if you wish to participate.
Freshly prepared hot food will be available on site, entry is free and everyone is welcome, whether they come on two, three or four wheels. Prizes will be awarded on both days for the best sidecar outfit and solo motorcycle, of any make, ridden to the event. For more information call 01386 700907 or visit watsonian-squire.com.
