CHARGE AT THE DOUBLE WITH OPTIMATE
OptiMate's latest Y-Splitter SAE connector is designed to make connecting multiple accessories to a motorcycle quicker and easier.
Battery chargers and optimisers, heated clothing, 12v sockets and USB chargers all make life on a bike much easier, but connecting them all to your battery can be fiddly, complicated and result in a mess of wires and connectors to deal with, both on and off the bike.
Eliminating the need to 'hard-wire' each accessory to the battery terminals separately, the OptiMate Y-Splitter is connected to the battery terminals and the two SAE outputs routed to a convenient 'plug-in' location, ready to receive any compatible plug/adaptor. SAE standards were created for engineering professionals working with automotive, marine and aircraft electrics and OptiMate's connectors are compatible with many other motorcycle accessories.
As there are two output terminals, one can be used for quick and easy connection of an OptiMate Charger and the other to directly attach accessories like heated clothing, or to add a 12v car-type or USB charging point for charging sat-navs, mobile phones or mp3 players.
Fitted with a rubber end cap and shroud, as well as in-line rubber sealing shrouds, the heavy-duty SAE connectors at the output end are designed to be dirt and weatherproof, providing a secure and reliable connection. The Y-Splitter's cable and connector pins are also fitted with rubber sealing shrouds, for increased weather-proofing.
Rated at 15 Amps, the system allows safe use of high amperage accessories like heated clothing and comes with an in-line fuse priced £16.99 and a non-fused version at £11.99. The former has a 15A fuse on each output so if a short circuit does happen, the bike will be unaffected.
