Kuberg has updated its range of electric motorcycles with technical and styling refinements for 2014, but prices will be held at the 2013 levels. Producing models designed for children from 2-12 years old, the Czech manufacturer will introduce electric bikes for teenagers later this year.
All engine control units have been re-mapped so that the electric motors - 500W on the Start and 750W for the larger Trial-E and Cross - delivery smooth and linear power from the moment the throttle is opened. Parents can select one of five different power settings, from as little as 20% up to full power, so that it is appropriate for the youngster's experience and the conditions. A new kill switch, operated by a magnetic touch pad, is fitted to the handlebars. It can be attached to a lanyard worn around the wrist of an adult while teaching/supervising the rider or around the rider's wrist, so that the engine is switched off if they take their hands off the bars.
- For 2014 the Start, which is aimed at 2-5 year old riders, gets an optional seat unit.
- The seat option is also available for the Trial-E, suitable for children from 5-10 years, which is fitted with black alloy wheel rims and matching bars for this year.
- Meanwhile the Cross, designed for 5-12 year olds, gets motocross style 16" x 2.4" Kenda tyres, black alloy wheel rims and matching bars.
Prices start at £750- including VAT for the Start; the Trial-E sells for £1095- and the Cross is £1195-. The optional seat unit costs an extra £65. Visit www.harglo-performance.com
