Knox Athletes Dominate TT Races for Second Year Running

Knox-protected riders climbed the podium in every solo class at the 2014 Isle of Man TT Races, winning a total of five races including the blue riband Senior.

Wearing Knox Biomech gloves and Track Vest, Michael Dunlop won the opening Superbike Race on Sunday 1st June for BMW.   The following Monday morning Michael finished third in the initial Supersport race on board his MD Racing Honda. On Tuesday Michael was back on a 1000cc BMW for the delayed Superstock race, which he won, followed by fellow Knox Athlete, Dean Harrison, in the runner-up spot. It was the turn of the zero-emission electric bikes to take to the Mountain Course for Wdnesday's TT Zero. Wearing the distinctive Knox Handroids, Rob Barber on the Ohio State University Machine was the third man on the podium, after the Mugen team of John McGuinness and Bruce Anstey. Dean Harrison claimed his first ever win at the TT in Thursday's Lightweight race on the 650cc twins, with fellow Handroid-wearer James Cowton, in third. On Friday Michael Dunlop did the double. In the second Supersport encounter Dunlop claimed first place on the Honda and followed it up with a clear victory in the Senior race on the BMW superbike, bringing his total tally on The Island to eleven.

Aged just 25, Michael has equalled the number of victories achieved by Phillip McCallen and Steve Hislop. He was also awarded the Joey Dunlop TT Championship Trophy for the second successive year. The Trophy is awarded to the rider who earns the most points across the Superbike, Supersport, Superstock and Senior classes. Knox Athletes have won a total of 10 races at the Isle of Man TT in the past two years.
