GLOBEBUSTERS' ACE TO ACE EXPEDITION – The Ultimate Burn Up
The iconic and world-famous Ace Cafe London has teamed up with motorcycle expedition experts GlobeBusters for the 'ultimate burn-up' - a 12,000-mile ride from London to China, arriving in time for the grand opening of the new Ace Cafe Beijing.
Beijing is home to one of a growing number of officially-licensed Ace premises, planned to include opening in countries as diverse as Japan, North America and across Europe. And GlobeBusters are putting together an equally international team of riders, who will leave London on 25th April 2015 and aim to arrive in the Chinese capital 80 days later. Their route takes them through Istanbul (Turkey), Tehran (Iran), Samarkand (Uzbekistan) and Everest Base Camp (Tibet), finally arriving in Beijing on 13th July.
“We'll be taking some 'proper' English tea with us as a gift for the Chinese, even though it's a bit like taking coals to Newcastle“ says expedition leader Kevin Sanders. “Along the way we'll be brewing up and spreading the word about the Ace Cafe in some of the most remote places in Asia”.
In keeping with the British theme, Kevin Sanders will be riding the Triumph Explorer on this epic journey; “It’s the first time I’ll have taken Triumph’s large adventure bike on one of our expeditions and I’m excited to see how it performs on what is our most extreme motorcycle trip.”
There is still time to join the Ace to Ace expedition team for the 'ultimate burn-up', although places are limited and bookings will close soon due to Chinese visa requirements. Notes; Kevin Sanders and his wife Julia hold two Guinness World Records. In 2002 they circumnavigated the world by motorcycle in 19½ days. The following year the couple rode the length of the Americas, from Alaska to Argentina, in 35 days, knocking 12 days off the previous record.
