Join GlobeBusters for a fortnight on the Southern Africa Garden Route
Motorcycle expedition specialists GlobeBusters report a surge of interest in African adventures this year - both their Namibia Tour and Southern Africa Expedition have sold out and only a handful of places remain on their Garden Route tour this October.
Starting from Cape Town and heading East along the South African Coast towards Port Elizabeth, before turning inland and returning, the 2,000-mile trip takes 14 days to complete and local big bike hire is available, for those wanting to take a fly-ride option.
Famed for their epic expeditions, GlobeBusters are introducing a series of shorter adventures, created for motorcyclists with limited holiday time, who still want to experience overland travel and taste new cultures.
The Garden Route takes in the Cape of Good Hope, riding along the spectacular Chapman's Peak Drive, a visit to the southernmost point of the African Continent - Cape L'Algulhas - and yet more breath-taking coastal biking between Betty's Bay and Gordon's Bay. Mountain dirt roads lead into "De Hel", a World Heritage Site. that is one of the most hidden-away valleys in South Africa.
There will also be opportunities to get up close to ostriches on a farm, spot elephants, lions, buffalo and black rhino at the Addo Elephant National Park and relax on a sunset game drive at private reserve. After that is a visit to Graaff-Reinet, one of the country's oldest towns, founded in 1786, and known as the Jewel of the Karoo.
Departing from Cape Town on 7 October and returning on 20 October 2015, prices start at £3,695 for 2 weeks, including bike hire (with panniers and tank bag), mainly 4-star hotels or game lodge accommodation and fully supported with GlobeBusters Guide, Support Driver & Vehicle.
