'The Ultimate Burn-Up' leaves London
Fifteen motorcyclists, from countries as diverse as Russia, Switzerland, South Africa and Australia, rode out from London's iconic and world-famous Ace Cafe after a hearty breakfast on Saturday 25th April, heading for Beijing and the grand opening of China’s first ever Ace Cafe.
Family, friends and well-wishers joined the Mayor of Brent, Councillor Kana Naheerathan, and Mark Wilsmore of the Ace Cafe, to wave them off on their epic 12,000-mile ride overland,
Beijing is home to one of a growing number of officially-licensed Ace premises, planned to include opening in regions as diverse as Japan, North America and across Europe.
This unique motorcycle journey is organised by GlobeBusters and will be the sixth trip along Asia’s legendary Silk Road for expedition leader Kevin Sanders. Their route takes them through Iran for the first time since 2011 and also includes a ride into the Himalayas to Everest Base Camp. In keeping with the British spirit, Kevin rides a 1200cc Triumph Explorer GlobeBuster Special Edition.
