Kiwi motorcycle luggage specialists, Ventura, have added BMW's R nineT and new R1200R to their fitment list. Although they look great, stripped-out street bikes like the nineT and 1200R offer little concession to carrying luggage; with compact seat units and no secure strapping points. Discreet, lightweight and with fuss-free fitting and removal, Ventura's unique ‘slide on/ride off' luggage mounting system is an ideal solution. Unlike other soft luggage options, Ventura's system uses a mounting rack which keeps the load stable and secure, eliminates the need for unreliable and potentially damaging straps/bungee cords and doesn’t use a fiddly lock and key system. It attaches only using existing points on the sub-frame, so no drilling, cutting or extra tubing, brackets or fixings needed, and it doesn’t add weight or width, like hard luggage mounting systems can. Both Pack and Rack can be removed in seconds, leaving only the discrete L-Brackets behind. The rider then has the option of fitting a pillion Grab Handle or a Sport Rack, designed especially for transporting small loads. Alternatively, the Brackets can be removed completely. Packs come in a variety of styles and sizes: from a 35-litre weekend bag, to a massive 102-litre tour Pack combination, and Ventura's new 'hard' Astro Top-Box. The system can be used in conjunction with either hard or soft panniers for additional carrying capacity. A typical system for the R nineT, featuring L-brackets (£125), Pack Rack (£52) and 47-litre Mistral pack (£150) costs £327, including VAT. The R1200R kit is £332.
