Mike Ellis Memorial Ride 2015
This year's Mike Ellis Memorial Run will be held on Saturday 5th September.
Riders are invited to meet at 10am at the Burger King restaurant, Cirencester Services, located on the A429 at the A417 junction, behind the Texaco/Co-op petrol station. Post code GL7 5DS.
Departure time is 10.30 (allowing time for a coffee and a chat before leaving) and the route crosses the Cotswolds to the Watsonian sidecar factory in Blockley (post code GL56 9RF), taking riders through some of the most scenic towns and villages in the area, including Bibury, Burford, Stow-on-the-Wold and Broadway, and taking in the legendary Fish Hill.
On arrival at the Watsonian factory there will be a charity BBQ, sidecar driving skills test (£1 a go), tombola and raffle (first prize is a pair of tickets to the final round of British Superbikes at Brands Hatch).
The Memorial run is held annually in memory Mike Ellis, who died in April 2012, when he was involved in an accident involving a reversing lorry. The ride is FREE to join and all money raised is donated to the Mike Ellis Memorial Fund, providing funds for life-saving equipment in rural communities.
