- First carbon crash bar for motorcycles
- Made from highly impact resistant composite materials
- Approximately half the weight of comparable metal bars
- State-of-the-art aerodynamic design
- Premium surface finish
- Completely weatherproof
Developed specifically for the BMW R 1200 GS LC by SW-Motech in Germany, the CX crash bar is the world's first production carbon crash bar for motorcycles. Made from lightweight, highly impact-resistant, carbon composite, the CX weighs around half as much as a steel crash bar, yet offers just as much protection for the vulnerable cylinder heads and rocker covers on the GS. Attaching to existing mounting points on the frame, using lightweight anodized alloy fixings – no messy metal brackets – the protectors are compact and narrow, giving maximum ground clearance. They're also aerodynamically shaped, so have minimum impact on high speed stability. CX bars are completely weatherproof – no steel components to corrode – and have a premium polished surface finish, so they look great too. In addition, the GS rocker covers can be removed without having to remove the bars - a real time-saver during roadside repairs and servicing. CX Carbon Crash Bars fit all 2013-on BMW R 1200 GS models. They come complete with all fittings and full instructions, selling for £1396.25 Inc. VAT.
