Infinity Motorcycles win Employer of the Year Award
Infinity Motorcycles have been named Employer of the Year in the South East region at the national FSB & Worldpay UK Business Awards.
Now in their fourth year, the FSB & Worldpay UK Business Awards celebrate the UK's best small businesses and this year approximately 800 entrants showcased their achievements in innovation, entrepreneurship, social responsibility and more. To win their category, Infinity had to show that they invest in their employees and see the benefits arising from this by attracting, developing and retaining staff.
Infinity Motorcycles opened their first clothing and accessory showroom in West London in 1999 and since then the business has grown into one of the UK's biggest and best-recognised chains, with 14 stores across the UK and a web store supplying customers throughout Britain and the world. Infinity believes that it's important to attract the best people by offering generous packages, on-going product training and opportunities for promotion. Vacancies rarely go unfilled for long and half of their store managers have over 10 years of service.
Managing Director Rob Puttick believes the company's success is largely due to combining professional attitudes to customer service with a fun working environment: “The founding directors still work in the business on a daily basis and are familiar faces to all of the 95-strong team. Everyone is on first-name terms”.
An example of this approach was demonstrated when Infinity recently hired street artist Nathan Bowen, famous for turning London's dull and boring building hoardings into colourful and creative spaces, to transform a corner of Infinity Motorcycles' customer service centre into a vibrant workspace.
