Flight Sidecar fit for BMW F800GS
Watsonian’s new Flight sidecar is now available to fit the BMW F800GS adventure sport bike.
Designed to suit contemporary motorcycles, the Flight offers plenty of touring potential for adventure seekers.
There is plenty of room for the passenger inside the cockpit, which measures 590mm wide with 1350mm of legroom, and the wrap-around acrylic screen shields them from the elements. The fully upholstered seat tilts forward to reveal a large locker (430mm x 670mm x 450mm), providing 129 litres of luggage capacity.
The sturdy glass fibre body shell is mounted on a specially-developed platform chassis, with a 15” cast alloy wheel and independent hydraulic suspension, for a smooth and stable ride with plenty of grip.
Indicators, tail and stop light are all LEDs, housed in a discreet mounting on the mudguard bracket.
The BMW F800GS has a tubular steel space frame with load-bearing engine, which makes fitting a sidecar difficult, because there are no mounting points for the lower attachment arms. The experienced engineers at Watsonian designed a braced subframe that bolts onto existing mounting points on the adventure sport bike, so the sidecar can be securely attached with the optimum geometry for strength and handling.
Made in Watsonian's factory in the North Cotswolds, prices for the Flight start at £5,195- including VAT and the BMW F800GS subframe and fitting kit costs £725-.
