More overseas presenters than ever at Overland Event
Tickets are still available for this year's Overland Event and with more motorcycle travel presenters from overseas than ever before, there will be plenty to keep visitors entertained over the weekend
Held at Hill End near Oxford from Thursday 1st to Sunday 4th September, the Overland Event has run annually since 2015 and has motorcycle travel at its heart. Markus Mayer rode around the world on a scooter and is coming from Germany to to talk about his marathon trip on 10" wheels. He will be joined by Trui Hanoulle, who piloted a Zero DS electric bike from her native Belgium to Turkey. Travel author Heather Ellis is flying in from Australia and many more fascinating motorcycle adventurers from the UK and abroad will be on stage, including the legendary Ted Simon, now in his 90s and still going strong.
Test rides are on offer from Triumph, Royal Enfield and Moto Morini, plus a MotoSkills Course teaching slow control and BikerDown training too. There are workshops on travel writing, tyres, photography, first aid, crating a bike and cookery on the road, historic and modified travel motorbikes on show in the central marquee and specialist equipment vendors to help you kit out your bike.
Food, drink and music from around the world create an international atmosphere through the day and into the night and, because visitor numbers are strictly limited, there is a relaxed atmosphere, providing opportunities to sample everything on offer..
Weekend tickets cost just £90, which includes three nights' free camping and unlimited tea and coffee. Dormitory accommodation on site can be booked for an additional £25 for three nights.
The Overland Event is at Hill End, Oxford OX17 1RA from 1st - 4th September.
