OptiMate Magnetic Connectors for Battery Chargers

OptiMate’s new O-97 adapter enables owners of MagCode®-equipped cars - and those who’d like to fit the new system - to keep their 12 Volt starter battery in top condition using an OptiMate charger. 

Fast becoming standard fitment on prestige brands, like Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati and Rolls Royce - MagCode® is a clever magnetic connector designed to replace ‘traditional’ battery leads on cars. 

Super easy to use, the magnetic connectors self-locate for a secure and accurate connection to a battery charger/maintainer every time, preventing accidental disconnections and port damage. If the car moves while connected, it automatically disconnects.

The new O-97 adapter features a MagCode® port at one end and a standard SAE connector at the other, so it can be plugged into any OptiMate battery optimiser.  

Rated 10A (13A max) current, the O-97 features a 75cm (30”) cable protected by a durable Nylon outer, to allow easy reach. Completely safe to use outdoors, it's weatherproof and tested to -40°C/-40°F. The SAE connector is fitted with a rubber inline seal to lock out moisture when in use, plus a protective cap for when it’s not. 

Car owners who’d like to upgrade to MagCode® charging, can do so with the OptiMate MC Port O-97. Designed to be panel-mounted, it connects directly to the car’s battery using M8/M10 terminals. It has an extra long 100cm (40”) long fused cable, so it can be fixed in a suitably handy spot. 

The low profile MagCode® port is of course ready to accept the O-97 adapter and also comes with a weatherproof cap to keep moisture out. 

Paired with the OptiMate 6 charger, the new MagCode® system makes battery care super easy. Part of OptiMate’s Gold Series of battery chargers, the OptiMate 6 delivers a mighty 6 Amp charge to maintain the high performance batteries found fitted to modern cars. It also has a built-in 'power supply' ensuring there's enough charge for on-board computer downloads, updates and troubleshooting.

The 12V OptiMate O-97C  MagCode® Clip retails at £67.90 including VAT. The O-97P Port sells for £57.90, and comes with instructions and everything needed to fit. Both are also available in 24V versions.
